We welcome pupils/students with physical disabilities as long as our site can cope with them. However, we advise parents of children with additional educational needs or physical disabilities to discuss their child’s requirements with the Dean of Studies who is also the Head of Special Needs before registering their child. While recognizing and fully supporting parents’ rights to have a school of their choice for their children, the school’s ability to accept children with particular needs is dependent on the supply of resources suitable to the needs of the individual student. Hence, Parents should provide a copy of an Educational Psychologist’s report or a medical report to support their request, or where such a report is not available, the School Management will request that the child be assessed immediately. This is to assist the school in establishing the educational and training needs of the child relevant to his/her disability or special needs and to profile the support services required.
MLA reserves the right to withdraw or withhold a school place for any child displaying needs which cannot be adequately met, at the Dean of Study’s discretion. Pupils Transferring
The school will make every reasonable effort to facilitate a pupil/student seeking a transfer to our school. MLA will decide whether or not a transfer:
- is in agreement with the school’s Admissions Policy
- is in the best interest of the pupil/student
- is in the best interest of the school
- is of educational benefit to the pupil/student
